No. 07 — The Name Instrument 100% in your browser
Naming style

Compound fuses two real words; invented builds new ones from syllables; portmanteau blends meanings; professional stays boardroom-safe.

Name length

Short names are easier to type, say and remember — the classic startup advantage.

A word from your product’s world, woven into the suggestions.

A note from the editor — read before you publish a name

    • These are brainstorming suggestions, not cleared brand names. Always check trademark databases and domain availability before using a name commercially.
    • Coincidental matches happen. A composed name may already belong to a real AI tool or startup — a quick web search is the minimum due diligence.
    • This instrument performs no legal or availability checks. It assembles word parts locally; it cannot tell you whether a name is registrable.
    • Best used for: startup brainstorming, hackathon projects, product-naming workshops, fictional tools and rebrand shortlists.

A name is the smallest possible pitch for your product. Make it easy to say, hard to confuse, and possible to own.

    How it works

    Inside the instrument

No accounts, no network calls. A small JavaScript file composes every name on your device.

    Chapter I

    Four naming schools

Compound names fuse two real words (the classic startup formula); invented names build fresh words from syllables; portmanteaus blend two meanings into one; professional names stay credible for enterprise buyers.

    Chapter II

    Private by construction

Names are composed with crypto.getRandomValues(), the browser’s secure random source. Your keyword seed never leaves the tab — there is no server to receive it.

    Chapter III

    From list to shortlist

Click any name to copy it, copy the whole list, or download the set as .txt for the team — then run survivors through trademark and domain checks before anyone falls in love.

    Quick answers

What makes a good AI tool name? +

A good AI tool name is short, easy to spell after hearing once, suggestive of what the product does (or how it feels), and distinctive enough to own in search. Compound names like “two real words fused” remain the most reliable formula for startups. Full strategy.

Compound, invented or portmanteau — which style wins? +

Compound names are the safest: meaningful, spellable, ownable. Invented names are the most distinctive but need marketing to teach meaning. Portmanteaus are memorable when the blend is obvious, cringeworthy when forced. Test all three against your audience.

Are the generated names trademark-safe? +

No — and no generator can promise that. BotBrand composes novel combinations, but collisions with existing marks happen. Search trademark databases and check domains before launch. See the checklist.

How long should an AI product name be? +

Shorter is almost always better: under 8 characters is ideal, under 12 is comfortable. Short names are easier to type, say, remember and fit into a logo. Use the length filter in the instrument to enforce it.

Should I include “AI” in the name? +

Sparingly. “AI” in the name dates fast and blends into a sea of AI-prefixed products. A name that suggests intelligence without spelling it out usually ages better — save the AI label for the tagline.

Is the generator really private? +

Yes. BotBrand is plain JavaScript in your browser using crypto.getRandomValues(). Nothing is sent over the network, no cookies are set, nothing is stored. See the privacy page.
